Tamil Nadu Weather Update: Heavy Rain Alert for Nilgiris and Coimbatore Hills; Rain Likely Across State Till July 15

The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) has forecast heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in isolated parts of the Nilgiris district and the hilly regions of Coimbatore district today and tomorrow.

The department has also warned that strong winds with speeds of 40 to 50 kmph are likely in Coimbatore and the Nilgiris. Meanwhile, light to moderate rainfall is expected at isolated places in the Western Ghats districts.

According to the latest forecast, light to moderate rain is likely to continue in the Western Ghats districts on July 11, while the rest of Tamil Nadu is also expected to receive light to moderate rainfall.

The RMC has further stated that light to moderate rain is likely to persist across Tamil Nadu until July 15. In Chennai and its suburban areas, the sky is expected to remain generally cloudy, with thunderstorms, lightning, and light to moderate rain likely at a few places.

The weather department has predicted that Chennai`s maximum temperature may hover around 39°C, while the minimum temperature is expected to be between 29°C and 30°C.

Residents in the affected districts are advised to stay updated with the latest weather forecasts and take necessary precautions during periods of heavy rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds.
