Tamil Nadu Class 10 Public Exams 2026: Science Practical Exams Begin Today
The Tamil Nadu Class 10 Public Examinations 2026 are scheduled to begin on March 11, with preparations currently underway across the state. Meanwhile, the Science practical examinations for Class 10 students have commenced today and will continue until February 28.
As per the policy introduced in the 2011–2012 academic year, practical exams for Science are mandatory for SSLC students in Tamil Nadu.
Science Exam Mark Distribution
For the Science subject:
75 marks - Theory Examination
25 marks - Practical Examination
The practical exam plays a crucial role in the overall scoring of students, contributing significantly to their final board exam results.
Instructions to Schools
- School headmasters have been instructed to:
- Download blank mark sheets and attendance registers online
- Conduct practical exams between the scheduled dates
- Record and upload students’ marks as per official guidelines
All schools are required to complete the practical exams by February 28 to ensure smooth conduct of the public examinations starting March 11.
