Tamil Nadu Weather: Dry Days Expected from Tomorrow as Low-Pressure System Moves Towards Sri Lanka

Tamil Nadu is likely to experience a significant reduction in rainfall from tomorrow, with dry weather expected across most parts of the state until November 1, according to Tamil Nadu Weatherman. The low-pressure system, which was earlier expected to move closer to the Chennai-Puducherry coast, has shifted southwards towards the Delta region and the northern Sri Lankan coast.

Rainfall Outlook for Today

Most parts of Tamil Nadu are likely to experience a break in rainfall today. However, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Ramanathapuram, Kanniyakumari, Thoothukudi, parts of Tirunelveli, Cuddalore and Sivaganga may still receive rain. Rainfall activity in these areas is expected to decrease from the evening. Meanwhile, northern Sri Lanka is likely to experience very heavy rainfall.

Chennai Misses Expected Rainfall

Chennai was initially expected to receive rainfall as the low-pressure system approached the Chennai-Puducherry coast. However, the system has moved further south towards the Delta region and Sri Lanka, reducing the chances of rain in Chennai. As a result, the city has largely missed the rainfall that was anticipated from the system.

Dry Weather Expected Until November 1

According to Tamil Nadu Weatherman, rainfall activity across Tamil Nadu is expected to decline sharply from tomorrow noon, with most areas likely to remain dry until November 1. The departure of Cyclone Arnab is expected to pull away the easterly winds, contributing to the reduction in rainfall activity.

Residents can expect a temporary break from the recent spells of rain, although isolated rainfall may still occur in some areas today. Weather conditions may change depending on the movement of the weather system and subsequent atmospheric developments.
