amil Nadu is expected to receive heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds in several districts today, according to the weather forecast provided. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely in isolated areas of Kanyakumari, Tenkasi, Tirunelveli, Virudhunagar, Thoothukudi and Ramanathapuram districts.

Several other districts, including Chennai, Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Nilgiris, Madurai, Theni, Erode, Cuddalore, Villupuram, Chengalpattu, Kancheepuram and Tiruvallur, may also experience heavy rainfall in isolated places.

Chennai Weather Update

Chennai and its suburban areas are likely to experience cloudy skies today and tomorrow, with moderate to heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms in some locations. The maximum temperature is expected to be around 31–32°C, while the minimum temperature may remain around 25–26°C.

Rain Forecast for the Coming Days

Heavy to very heavy rainfall is forecast in isolated areas of Kanyakumari, Coimbatore and Nilgiris tomorrow. The hilly areas of Tirunelveli district may also receive heavy to very heavy rain on the following day.

Fishermen Warning

Strong winds of 35–45 kmph, with gusts reaching 55 kmph, are forecast over the South Tamil Nadu coast, Gulf of Mannar and Comorin Sea. Fishermen have been advised not to venture into the specified sea areas during the warning period from October 23 to 26, 2026.
