Velankanni Church Festival 2026: Special Buses from Chennai and Other Cities

The State Express Transport Corporation (SETC) has announced special bus services for devotees attending the Velankanni Church Festival 2026. The services will operate from August 27 to September 10, 2026.

Special buses will be operated from Chennai, Bengaluru, Thoothukudi, Kanniyakumari and Nagercoil to Velankanni to help devotees travel conveniently during the festival.

As part of the arrangements, 150 special buses will run from Chennai to Velankanni on August 28, while 150 buses will operate from Velankanni to Chennai on August 29.

For the flag-lowering ceremony on September 8, 150 special buses will be operated between Chennai and Velankanni in both directions. Additional buses will also be operated on other days based on passenger demand.

Devotees travelling from long-distance locations can book TNSTC bus tickets online through the official website or app. Bus services are also available on a contract basis for groups travelling together.

The SETC has requested devotees to make use of the Velankanni special bus services for a convenient journey during the annual festival.
