DRA Invests ₹159 Crore in Chennai Land to Develop Premium Residential Project

Chennai-based real estate developer DRA has acquired a 10-acre land parcel off OMR near Thazhambur for ₹159 crore, marking another major expansion of its residential development pipeline in South Chennai.

The developer plans to build a premium residential community with an estimated gross development value (GDV) of ₹1,200 crore. The project is expected to offer around 1.55 million sq. ft. of residential space, targeting the growing housing requirements of premium mid-income and upper-middle-class families in the region.

Project to Offer Multiple Housing Formats

Located in Thazhambur, the project is positioned within one of South Chennai’s expanding residential corridors. Its proximity to the OMR employment corridor is expected to appeal to homebuyers looking for convenient access to major IT and employment hubs.

The development will also benefit from connectivity to established residential areas such as Medavakkam and Sholinganallur.

The proposed community will feature a mix of row houses, mid-rise apartments and a 38-storey high-rise residence. The development is planned with lifestyle amenities, open spaces and contemporary community infrastructure.

DRA Expands Chennai Development Pipeline

Commenting on the acquisition, Ranjeeth Rathod, Managing Director, DRA, said the 10-acre site offers the company an opportunity to create a distinctive residential community with multiple housing formats to meet the changing aspirations of South Chennai homebuyers.

The acquisition comes as DRA continues to expand its residential development pipeline across emerging and established micro-markets in Chennai. The company is focusing on larger communities designed to cater to the evolving preferences and housing needs of the city’s homebuyers.
