CNG Price Increased by ₹2 per Kg; Fourth Hike in Less Than Two Weeks

Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) prices have been increased again, with rates going up by ₹2 per kg on Tuesday. This is the fourth CNG price hike since May 15, adding pressure on vehicle owners and transport operators.

Following the latest revision, CNG will now cost ₹83.09 per kg, according to Indraprastha Gas Ltd (IGL).

The latest increase comes just three days after the previous ₹1 hike. In total, CNG prices have gone up by ₹4 per kg within the last two weeks.

At the same time, petrol and diesel prices were also revised upward on Monday. Petrol prices increased by ₹2.61 per litre, while diesel prices rose by ₹2.71 per litre.

Oil companies said the fuel price hikes are linked to rising global crude oil prices amid ongoing tensions in West Asia. Since fuel price revisions resumed on May 15, petrol and diesel prices have increased by nearly ₹7.5 per litre overall.

The repeated fuel price hikes are expected to impact transportation costs and may also lead to higher prices for essential goods and services in the coming weeks.
