Chennai Corporation Budget for 2014-15: Rs. 4,200/- Crores

A budget of Rs. 4,200 Crores has been declared for the year 2014-15 by Chennai Corporation.
The mayor, Mr. S. Duraisamy has announced that 20 Litre cans of water will be sold to public at subsidized price. �Amma weekly fares�, a weely shopping fare, will be organized in 200 wards for the benefit of the public. Another notable plan is to build �Amma Theatre�s to screen movies at lower ticket rates.
For the benefit of the visitors to Chennai, low-cost lodges will be built in available open lands. Also, ladies� lodges are to be built.
