Chennai Gold Rate Today: 22K and 18K Gold Prices Fall by ₹225 Per Gram

Chennai gold prices declined in the latest morning update released by the Madras Jewellers & Diamond Traders Association (MJDTA) on September 2, 2026.

Both 22-carat and 18-carat gold prices fell by ₹225 per gram, while the silver rate remained unchanged.

The 22K gold rate in Chennai is ₹13,950 per gram, down from ₹14,175 per gram in the previous update.

Based on today`s rate, 8 grams (1 sovereign) of 22K gold costs ₹1,11,600. This is the gold value alone and excludes making charges, GST and other jewellery-related costs.

18K Gold Rate in Chennai

The 18K gold price is ₹11,720 per gram, compared with the previous rate of ₹11,945 per gram, marking a ₹225 decline per gram.
