Vetri Tamil Nadu Super App for 500 Government Services: Key IT Department Announcements

The Tamil Nadu government will launch the “Vetri Tamil Nadu Super App” at a cost of Rs. 5 crore. The app will allow people to access around 500 government services directly from their mobile phones, including birth certificate services, family card services and driving licence renewal.

Tamil Internet Language Lab

A “Tamil Internet Language Lab” powered by artificial intelligence will be developed through the Tamil Virtual Academy at an initial cost of Rs. 50 lakh. The initiative will later be expanded to other educational programmes.

AI Tool for e-Office

An AI-based tool for e-Office applications will be introduced to improve the quality of official communication while ensuring that final decision-making remains with the concerned officials. It will initially be implemented as a pilot project and gradually expanded across government departments.

Tamil Nadu Cultural Digital Map

The second phase of the Tamil Nadu Cultural Digital Map project will document 500 cultural sites and events across Ramanathapuram, Thoothukudi, Tirunelveli, Tenkasi, Kanniyakumari and Pudukkottai districts at a cost of Rs. 60 lakh.

AI Models for Health and Agriculture

AI models will be developed for healthcare and agriculture programmes to help improve the implementation of related government schemes and services.

Free AI Services for Tamil Nadu Entrepreneurs

A new initiative offering free AI services to Tamil Nadu entrepreneurs will be launched to accelerate the development of AI-based products. An ultra-high-performance GPU computing cluster owned by the government will also be established at a cost of Rs. 10 crore.

Vetri Tamil Nadu Website

A Vetri Tamil Nadu website will be created at a cost of Rs. 1 crore, allowing the public to share suggestions and recommendations with the government and provide feedback on public services.

Vetri Tamil Nadu Deep-Tech Innovation Fund

Through the iTNT Hub, a Vetri Tamil Nadu Deep-Tech Innovation Fund will be established with an initial corpus of Rs. 50 crore. Around 25% of the fund will be allocated separately for SC/ST entrepreneurs.

Vetri Tamil Nadu AI Centres of Excellence

Through ELCOT, Vetri Tamil Nadu Artificial Intelligence Centres of Excellence (VTN AI COE) will be established with an estimated investment of Rs. 20 crore. The centres will focus on AI innovation, research, skill development, startup growth and responsible AI adoption in selected sectors.
