Tamil Nadu Rain Alert: Light to Moderate Rain Expected Across Several Districts Today

The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) has forecast light to moderate rainfall in several parts of Tamil Nadu today due to the prevailing weather conditions.

According to the weather department, a trough extending from Gujarat to Karnataka persists at the mean sea level, while a weak low-level trough is present along the Tamil Nadu coast. As a result, isolated places in the Western Ghats districts are likely to receive moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, other parts of Tamil Nadu, along with Puducherry and Karaikal, are expected to experience light to moderate rain with thunderstorms at isolated locations. The weather department has also warned that strong surface winds of 40 to 50 kmph may occur in a few places.

Weather Forecast for Tomorrow

The RMC has further stated that Western Ghats districts, coastal Tamil Nadu, and north interior Tamil Nadu, along with Puducherry and Karaikal, are likely to receive light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms at isolated places tomorrow.

In the remaining parts of Tamil Nadu, light rain with thunderstorms is expected at a few locations. Strong surface winds with speeds of 40 to 50 kmph may also prevail in isolated areas.
