Chennai Corporation Starts Tank Bund Road Re-Lay Work After Week-Long Delay
The Greater Chennai Corporation has begun re-laying work on Tank Bund Road in Nungambakkam, nearly a week after the road was milled. The delay had caused inconvenience to motorists and pedestrians due to uneven surfaces and heavy dust.
Tank Bund Road is a key stretch connecting major city roads and residential areas, witnessing significant daily traffic. After milling the top layer, the road remained in a rough condition for several days, leading to traffic congestion and commuter complaints.
Road Work Details
Officials have now started asphalt re-lay work and aim to complete it at the earliest to restore smooth traffic flow. The project is part of a larger infrastructure improvement initiative covering hundreds of roads across Chennai.
The civic body has reportedly identified several bus route roads and interior stretches for resurfacing before the upcoming season, ensuring better durability and commuter safety.
