MTC Releases Schedule for Chennai Ula Tourist Buses from Central
The Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) has released the schedule for its special tourist bus service, “Chennai Ula,” departing from Chennai Central Railway Station. Launched on January 14, the service aims to help residents and tourists explore major heritage sites and tourist attractions across the city.
Five specially designed buses, inspired by the iconic 1980s model, have been deployed for this service.
Route:
The buses will operate from Chennai Central via Park Railway Station, Egmore Railway Station, Egmore Museum, Valluvar Kottam, Semmozhi Poonga, Luz Corner, Santhome, Lighthouse, Vivekananda House, Kannagi Statue, Marina Beach, War Memorial, Secretariat, Chennai High Court, Pallavan House, and return to Chennai Central.
Departure Timings from Chennai Central:
10:00 AM, 10:30 AM, 11:00 AM, 11:30 AM, 12:00 PM, 12:20 PM, 12:50 PM, 1:20 PM, 1:50 PM, 2:20 PM, 2:50 PM, 3:20 PM, 3:50 PM, 4:10 PM, 4:35 PM, 5:00 PM, 5:40 PM, 6:20 PM, 7:00 PM, 7:50 PM, and 8:30 PM.
The first bus departs at 10:00 AM and the last at 8:30 PM.
Ticket & Boarding:
Tickets are priced at ₹50, allowing passengers to board and alight at any stop along the route and travel multiple times throughout the day. Tickets can be purchased onboard.

Weekdays (Monday to Friday): 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM
Weekends and Public Holidays: 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM
MTC has stated that the single ticket is valid across all five buses, offering a convenient and affordable way to explore Chennai’s heritage and tourist landmarks.
