In view of the upcoming weekend travel rush, the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) will operate 860 special buses starting December 11. According to the transport authorities, 19,734 passengers have already booked tickets for these additional services.
Why Special Buses Are Being Operated?
During festival seasons, auspicious days, and weekends, the number of passengers traveling across Tamil Nadu increases significantly. To ensure safe and smooth travel, the transport corporations regularly operate additional special buses.

From Chennai (Koyambedu & Kilambakkam)
From Kilambakkam (Dec 11):
320 special buses to Thiruvannamalai, Trichy, Kumbakonam, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Nagercoil, Kanyakumari, Thoothukudi, Coimbatore, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur
From Kilambakkam (Dec 12):
310 special buses to the same destinations
From Koyambedu (Dec 11):
55 buses to Thiruvannamalai, Nagapattinam, Velankanni, Hosur, Bengaluru
From Koyambedu (Dec 12):
Another 55 buses to the same routes
From Other Major Cities
100 special buses will also be operated from Bengaluru, Tiruppur, Erode, and Coimbatore to various destinations across Tamil Nadu.
