As many as 1736 students in Chepauk - Triplicane constituency received scholarships!!
The popular YMCA ground in Royapettah was buzzing with lots of activities yesterday, 17th August 2025. The reason for that was due to a program held there to distribute educational scholarships to the students from Thiruvellikeni constituency in Chepauk in Chennai. The event witnessed the presence of deputy chief minister Mr. Udayanidhi Stalin who distributed educational incentives worth Rs 2.15 cr to 1736 students.
The deputy chief minister later spoke about 4 years back educational scholarships worth Rs 3 lakhs were given to as many as 25 students. He added that from Rs 3 lakhs given to 25 students the educational scholarships of Rs 2.15 cr are now being provided to 1736 students. In total, educational scholarships of amount Rs 4crore 58 lakhs were provided to 3734 students
It must be taken into note that the present chief minister of TN has been responsible for education based schemes like Illam Thedi Kalvi and Ennum Ezhuthum etc. In TN, education is being given huge importance. The sensational piece of information is that in TN alone about 75% of students after completing their schooling join higher education. The main goal is to increase the 75% to 100%.
This scholarship distribution event witnessed the presence of many important personalities like Chennai west district league secretary Mr. Chittrasu, area league secretaries Mr. Madanmohan, Mr. ARPM. Kamaraj, Mr. VP. Mani, Mr.Ponnarasu, Mr. PK. BABU, Mr. Gautam, Mr. Kalai, advocate Mr. Prakash and few others.
