The chief minister inaugurated educational or academic buildings that have been constructed at a cost of Rs 120.02 crores. He later laid the foundation stone for the new buildings of the HED or higher education department. It is worth mentioning that the new buildings would be constructed at a cost of Rs 207crores.
The chief minister of Tamil Nadu Mr. M.K. Stalin grabbed the attention of many at the popular Queen Marys College for Women in Chennai yesterday. He was very busy at this college and he inaugurated a hostel for women students constructed at a cost of Rs 42 crores.
He later inaugurated many buildings like classroom buildings, laboratory buildings, workshops, hostel buildings constructed in the arts and sciences colleges, engineering colleges etc. These buildings have been constructed at a cost of Rs 120.02 crores . The chief minister also laid the foundation stone for HED buildings that would be constructed at a cost of Rs 207 cr.
In the future, an auditorium would be built in Queen Mary`s College and for that the CM laid the foundation stone yesterday. This auditorium would be constructed at a cost of Rs 5 cr. It is mentioned that the funds for this would be provided from Wilsons MP Constituency Development Funds. An amount of Rs 269.52 cr has been allotted under Perunthalaivar Kamaraj College Development scheme for those buildings and foundation stones laid by the chief minister of TN.
It must be recalled that on 22nd of November in 2022 convocation ceremony took place and the girl students had requested the chief minister to construct hostels for them to stay and study at the college campus itself. The chief minister also agreed to their important request.
As a result of the request, hostel buildings have been constructed at a cost of Rs 42 cr at the Queen Marys College campus itself. This would help 455 students to stay and study in the hostel itself. The chief minister later inspected the hostel buildings and took part in discussions with the students.
