Inspection Completed on Vadapalani–Poonamallee Metro Corridor; Launch Expected in March

The safety inspection of the Vadapalani–Poonamallee Metro corridor has been successfully completed, clearing a major hurdle for the start of commercial operations. The service is likely to be launched in March, subject to approval from the Railway Board.
Initially, ten trains are expected to operate on the new stretch. Services will run at a frequency of seven minutes between Porur and Poonamallee Bypass, while alternate trips will terminate at Porur.
Passengers accessing Phase II at Vadapalani will be able to use the existing Phase I station for connectivity.
With the inspection process completed, the new corridor is set to improve connectivity in the western parts of the city and ease traffic congestion.
