GEM Hospital Launches Free Liver Health Camp for Police on World Hepatitis Day
In observance of World Hepatitis Day, GEM Hospital has launched a Free Liver Health Screening Camp exclusively for police personnel, along with announcing LIV 24/7 On-Call Liver Care Support for the public. The initiative was inaugurated by Thiru. Pakerla Cephas Kalyan, IPS, Joint Commissioner of Police, South Zone.
The camp, starting 28th July, offers free liver tests, Fibroscan, hepatitis B & C screening, consultations, and lifestyle guidance, aiming to detect liver diseases early among high-stress professionals like police officers.
Dr. C. Palanivelu, Chairman, GEM Hospital, emphasized the importance of early screening, aligning with WHO’s 2025 theme, "Let’s Break It Down". The camp also addresses rising liver issues like NAFLD among young individuals, noted Dr. P. Senthilnathan.
