Low Bookings Force Cancellation of Six Flights at Chennai Airport
Passengers experienced inconvenience at Chennai Airport on Wednesday as six flights, including three arrivals and three departures, were cancelled owing to low passenger turnout.
The affected outbound flights included an Air India Express service to Singapore scheduled at 4:50 AM, along with two Akasa Air flights: one to Andaman at 7:40 AM and another to Mumbai at 1:35 PM.
Inbound flights that were cancelled included an Akasa Air flight from Mumbai (7:00 AM), a flight from Andaman (12:30 PM), and an Air India Express flight from Singapore (2:50 PM).
According to airport authorities, the cancellations were due to insufficient passenger bookings. Affected passengers were informed in advance, and alternative travel arrangements were provided by the respective airlines.
