Construction of a high specialty hospital with state-of-art medical equipment for children in Chennai - Details here!!
At an estimated cost of Rs 487.66 cr, a high specialty hospital building would be constructed in Chennai for the sake of children. This was as per Mr. M. Subramanian, health minister of Tamil Nadu.
Under the leadership of the health minister of TN, a study was conducted to select the site plus for the construction of a new multi-speciality hospital for children at a cost of Rs 487.66 cr in the Guindy based King Institute complex.
The health minister later spoke about how the new hospital would compete with the largest medical infrastructures in the world. He added that the new hospital in Chennai would be constructed in such a way that there would be no such high specialty hospital in any state in India.
On an area of approximately 6.5acrs of land, the multi speciality hospital for kids would be built. The building would have ground floor plus 6 floors and it would be 315290 sq ft area and a total area of 438718 sq ft. The hospital would be equipped with state-of-art medical equipment.
The good news is that site selection has been completed now and this upcoming hospital would be under Dr. MGR Medical University. Within a month, the process of tender invitation would get completed. In September month, this new hospital project would be inaugurated by the TN chief minister Mr. M.K. Stalin.
Once the hospital becomes operational, then the children would be able to receive many medical services belonging to several departments like paediatrics, surgical medicine, orthopaedics, neurology and nephrology etc.
