Chief Minister M.K. Stalin inaugurated a state-of-the-art 5,000 sq.ft. ‘Book Park’ at the Chennai Central Metro Station, developed at a cost of ₹1.85 crore. Aimed at enhancing travel and reading experiences, the facility features thousands of books, a cafeteria, mini event hall, and Wi-Fi access, making it a cultural hub for commuters and the general public.
The initiative is a collaboration between Tamil Nadu Textbook and Educational Services Corporation (TNTBESC) and Chennai Metro Rail under a revenue-sharing model. The collection spans Tamil, English, and other languages, covering school textbooks, literary works, children’s books, and competitive exam guides. A 10% discount is being offered to encourage readership.
