NMMS Scholarship 2026: Apply by November 3, Exam on December 12

The application process for the National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) Examination 2026 has started in Tamil Nadu. Eligible Class 8 students studying in government and government-aided schools can apply for the scholarship examination before November 3, 2026.

₹12,000 Annual Scholarship for Selected Students

Under the NMMS scheme, one lakh students across India, including 6,695 students from Tamil Nadu, will be selected through the examination.

Selected students will receive a scholarship of ₹1,000 per month, amounting to ₹12,000 annually, from Class 9 to Class 12, subject to eligibility and renewal conditions.

The NMMS examination for the 2026–27 academic year is scheduled to be held on December 12, 2026.

How to Apply for the NMMS Scholarship 2026

Eligible students can download the application form from the official website of the Tamil Nadu Directorate of Government Examinations.

Application steps:

1. Visit the official website: dge.tn.gov.in.

2. Download the NMMS examination application form.

3. Fill in the required details.

4. Pay the examination fee of ₹50.

5. Submit the completed application form and fee to the school headmaster.

The last date to submit applications is November 3, 2026.
