Heavy Rain Alert for 6 Tamil Nadu Districts Today; Chennai Likely to Receive Showers

The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC), Chennai, has forecast heavy rainfall in six districts of Tamil Nadu today (June 12) due to prevailing atmospheric circulations over Andhra Pradesh and adjoining coastal regions.

According to the weather department, Nilgiris, Kanniyakumari, Ranipet, Tiruvallur, Coimbatore, and the hilly areas of Tirunelveli district are likely to receive heavy rain at isolated places.

Meanwhile, Chennai, Chengalpattu, Kancheepuram, Vellore, Tirupathur, Tiruvannamalai, Salem, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Villupuram, Kallakurichi, Cuddalore, Theni, Tenkasi, and Puducherry may experience light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning.

Residents in the affected districts are advised to stay updated with weather forecasts and take necessary precautions during periods of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms.
