Train Service Changes in Trichy: Important Announcement for Express Train Passengers

Passengers traveling through Tiruchirappalli (Trichy) are advised to note important changes in the operation of several express trains. The Southern Railway has announced temporary modifications in train services due to track maintenance and engineering works in the Madurai railway division.

As part of the maintenance work, a few trains will run on diverted routes, while some trains will skip certain stations for a limited period. Railway officials have requested passengers to check the latest train schedules before planning their journey.

Trains Operating on Diverted Routes

Guruvayur – Chennai Egmore Express (Train No. 16128)

This train will operate on a diverted route for several days. Instead of running via Madurai – Cholavandan – Kodaikanal Road – Dindigul – Manapparai, the train will run via Aruppukottai – Manamadurai – Sivagangai – Karaikudi – Pudukkottai – Trichy.

Other Express Trains with Service Changes

Sengottai – Mayiladuthurai Express (Train No. 16848) will run on a diverted route between March 12 and March 17.

Mumbai CSMT Express (Train No. 12666) will operate on a diverted route on March 12 and March 15.

Kanyakumari – Howrah Superfast Express will run on a diverted route on March 14.

Kanyakumari – Hyderabad Special Train (Train No. 07229) will operate via Madurai – Manamadurai – Karaikudi – Trichy on March 13.

Coimbatore – Nagercoil Express (Train No. 16322) will skip Madurai and operate via Karur – Trichy – Karaikudi – Manamadurai – Virudhunagar on March 14.

Thiruvananthapuram Central – Trichy Intercity Superfast Express (Train No. 22628) will run via Virudhunagar – Manamadurai – Madurai on March 18.

Railway authorities have urged passengers to check train routes and timings in advance to avoid inconvenience. These temporary changes are being implemented to facilitate infrastructure upgrades and ensure safer train operations.
