Idhayam Oil Chairman V. R. Muthu Passes Away at 72
Industrialist and Chairman of the popular Idhayam Oil Group, V. R. Muthu, passed away on March 4 due to ill health. He was 72. In a post shared on the Idhayam Mantra X page, the company expressed deep sorrow over his demise, stating that his leadership and guidance will always remain in their hearts.
Born on October 6, 1953, in Virudhunagar, V. R. Muthu played a key role in making the Idhayam oil brand widely known. In 1986, he started the brand along with his father by selling sesame oil in loose form. Under his leadership, the Idhayam Group expanded its range by introducing products such as Mantra groundnut oil and other cooking oils, and today the company exports its products to more than 50 countries.
