Tamil Nadu Rain Alert: Heavy Rain Likely in 15 Districts Today

Heavy rain is likely in 15 districts of Tamil Nadu today, according to the Chennai Regional Meteorological Centre. The forecast is linked to an atmospheric circulation prevailing over North Tamil Nadu and adjoining South Coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Heavy rain with thunderstorms and strong winds of 40–50 kmph may occur at isolated places in Nilgiris, Erode, Tiruppur, Salem, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Tiruvannamalai, Cuddalore, Namakkal, Tiruchirappalli, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam, Tiruvarur, Thanjavur and Pudukkottai. Karaikal may also receive heavy rain.

Light to moderate rain is possible in other Western Ghats districts and several districts including Tirupattur, Vellore, Ranipet, Villupuram, Perambalur, Ariyalur, Karur, Madurai, Sivaganga, Ramanathapuram and Thoothukudi, as well as Puducherry.
