Three-Day Safety Inspection for Poonamallee-Vadapalani Metro from Feb 11

The Commissioner of Railway Safety (CMRS) will conduct a three-day inspection from February 11 for the Poonamallee-Vadapalani Metro stretch under Phase II.
Officials said technical checks will be carried out on the first two days, followed by a speed trial on the third day. After the inspection, the report will be sent to the Railway Board for final approval to begin passenger services. The inauguration is expected by end of February.
The stretch is part of the 26-km Poonamallee-Light House corridor and will operate driverless trains. Passengers can connect to the existing Vadapalani Metro station through a foot-over-bridge (skywalk).
