Chennai - Tirupati Express Trains Cancelled from December 9 to 27

The Southern Railway has announced the cancellation of four express train services between Chennai and Tirupati from December 9 to 27 due to railway track modernisation and restructuring work at Renigunta yard in the Guntakal Division of South Central Railway.

The cancellations will affect passengers travelling between Chennai Central and Tirupati in both directions.

Cancelled Train Services

The Chennai Central–Tirupati Express (Train No. 16057), which departs Chennai Central at 6:30 a.m., will remain cancelled from December 9 to 27. The corresponding Tirupati–Chennai Central Express (Train No. 16054), scheduled to depart Tirupati at 10:10 a.m., will also be cancelled during the same period.

Similarly, the Chennai Central–Tirupati Express (Train No. 16053), which departs Chennai Central at 2:40 p.m., will not operate from December 9 to 27. Its return service, the Tirupati–Chennai Central Express (Train No. 16058), scheduled to depart Tirupati at 8:05 p.m., will also remain cancelled.

Reason for Cancellation

The cancellations are due to modernisation and restructuring work involving railway track crossings at Renigunta yard in the Guntakal Division of South Central Railway.

Passengers planning to travel between Chennai and Tirupati during this period are advised to check the latest train schedules and make alternative travel arrangements. Those who have already booked tickets should consult official railway channels for information on cancellations and applicable refund procedures.
