Due to the continuing dry weather in Tamil Nadu, temperatures have increased significantly across several districts. According to the Chennai Meteorological Department, the hot and dry conditions are expected to persist in many parts of the state.

On Thursday, Erode, Karur, Vellore, and Salem districts recorded a high temperature of 101°F, while Tiruttani, Madurai, and Chennai recorded around 100°F. In several other areas, temperatures remained close to normal but reached around 98°F.

In Tirunelveli and Coimbatore districts, temperatures were reported to be about 3°C above normal, indicating a noticeable rise in heat levels.

Meanwhile, a low-level atmospheric circulation extending from South Interior Karnataka to Telangana is influencing the weather. Due to this system, light rain is expected in Nilgiris and Coimbatore districts today and tomorrow, while most other parts of Tamil Nadu will continue to experience dry weather.

Rain Forecast:

March 8: Light rain likely in Nilgiris, Coimbatore, and South Tamil Nadu coastal districts.

March 9: Light rain expected in Western Ghats districts and coastal Tamil Nadu.

March 10: Light rain possible in Delta districts and parts of South Tamil Nadu.

Additionally, early morning mist is likely in the Western Ghats districts today and tomorrow, according to the weather department.
