Having started his career as a medical representative, he went on to build an enterprise that brought India’s traditional grains, millets and nutritious food practices into convenient products suited to modern families.

At a time when healthy and millet-based packaged foods were still a developing category, he recognised their potential. Through patience, product quality, market understanding and consistent brand building, Manna grew into a trusted name in thousands of households.

Under his leadership, the company attracted significant institutional investment, including ₹152 crore from a fund managed by Morgan Stanley Private Equity Asia in 2018—an important recognition of the brand’s strength and future potential.

His journey demonstrates a powerful business truth: a traditional idea, when combined with vision, quality and professional execution, can become a strong and respected modern brand.

One of the most memorable initiatives associated with his Rotary leadership was the historic “Rotary My Flag, My India” event held in Chennai in December 2014. Tens of thousands of people gathered to form a massive human representation of the Indian national flag, achieving a Guinness World Record at the time.

The initiative brought together Rotarians, Rotaractors, Interactors, students, families and members of the public in a remarkable expression of patriotism and unity. It showed his extraordinary ability to transform an ambitious vision into a large-scale people’s movement.

His service has also reflected deep concern for healthcare, education, community development and Rotary’s mission to eradicate polio.
