Meenakshi temple website hacked
The website of the Sri Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple was hacked. The Cyber Crime Unit of the Madurai city police has registered a case under the Information Technology Act. The police said the website was designed and being maintained by a private company in the city. The server is located in the U.S.
A police officer said the hackers had masked the home page with some other picture containing a few names of those who supposedly hacked the website.
The website has been popular among devotees in India and abroad, offering details of the temple festivals and allowing bookings for special pujas.
