Advance reservations for Pongal travel continue for the 4th day!

The 2nd class tickets for Rameswaram & Uzhavan Express trains were sold out!
Advance reservations for Pongal festival travel commenced on 10th November.
Booking activity was more intense on the first day but the intensity reduced a bit on 11th & 12th November.
Reservations for the journey starting on 12th January, 2015 started yesterday (Thursday, 13th November). The reservations for 2nd class travel in trains starting from Egmore were sold out within a few hours. As per yesterday afternoon status, there are about 100 on waiting list.
The speed with which the bookings got filled is unprecedented.
The reservations for Tanjore Uzhavan Express were also sold out.
Only waiting list was available for the Nellai Tuticoprin Express.
However, quite unusually, booking were available for Pandian Express, Cheran Express, Nilgiri Express as these trains are always booked.
With the reservations continuing for the 4th day running, bookings are available for 2-tier & 3-tier A/C class. This may be due to the fact that Monday (12th January) is a working day.
However, it is expected that the bookings for the trains leaving on 13th January are likely to get filled in fast time.
