Over 11.8 Lakh Applications Filed for Voter Enrolment During TN Electoral Revision

More than 11.83 lakh applications have been submitted for inclusion of names in the voter list during the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Tamil Nadu. The Election Commission of India stated that the claims and objections process, which began on December 19, has seen strong public participation across the state so far.
To support the exercise, around 2.72 lakh booth-level agents from recognised political parties have been actively involved in assisting voters with claims and objections. The Election Commission confirmed that the revision process will continue until January 18, after which verification and further procedures will be carried out.
