Thaimaman Gold Ring Scheme 2026: Joyalukkas and Kalyan Jewellers Get Orders

The Thaimaman Gold Ring Scheme is set to be launched in Tamil Nadu on September 15, 2026. In the first phase, around 1,28,499 children born in government hospitals will receive gold rings.

According to the Tamil Nadu Health and Family Welfare Department, the scheme aims to honour newborn children and their mothers while creating a lasting memory of the child`s birth in a government hospital.

The government has approved the distribution of 4,41,667 gold rings weighing one gram each under the scheme. Following this, the Tamil Nadu Medical Services Corporation invited tenders on July 14.

A total of 11 companies participated through the Tamil Nadu Tenders Portal. Joyalukkas and Kalyan Jewellers, which quoted the lowest prices, were selected and awarded the contracts.

For the first four months from June, a total of 1,28,499 gold rings will be supplied to beneficiaries. Joyalukkas has been allocated 70% of the order, while Kalyan Jewellers will handle the remaining 30%.

The Thaimaman Gold Ring Scheme 2026 is intended to strengthen public confidence in government healthcare services and encourage families to remember and celebrate births at government hospitals.

The scheme is expected to be formally launched on September 15, coinciding with the birth anniversary of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C.N. Annadurai.
