WhatsApp Testing New Scheduled Message Feature: Send Messages at a Later Date and Time

WhatsApp is reportedly testing a new scheduled messaging feature that will allow users to send messages automatically at a selected date and time. This upcoming feature is designed to make messaging more convenient by allowing users to prepare messages in advance instead of sending them immediately.

With this feature, users may be able to schedule text messages, links, photos and videos for delivery at their preferred time.

How WhatsApp Scheduled Messages Will Work

Users can prepare a message in WhatsApp and press and hold the Send button to select the delivery date and time.

The feature is expected to offer the following options:

- Schedule messages from 10 minutes to two weeks in advance.

- Send text messages, links, photos and videos at a selected time.

- Schedule one photo or video at a time.

- Edit images using the drawing editor or add captions before scheduling.

- Review and delete scheduled messages before they are sent.

Delete Scheduled Messages Before Delivery

WhatsApp is also expected to allow users to review and delete scheduled messages before their delivery time. If a scheduled message is deleted, the recipient will not receive any notification about its cancellation.

The scheduled messaging feature could be useful for birthday wishes, reminders, important announcements and other messages that need to be delivered at a specific time.
