Chennai Monsoon Relief: Register as a Volunteer Through Namma Chennai App

Ahead of the Northeast Monsoon, the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) has opened volunteer registration through the Namma Chennai app and GCC website to strengthen rain and disaster relief efforts.

Residents, NGOs, corporate organisations and associations can register to support Chennai monsoon relief and emergency response activities. Volunteers can choose their area of expertise and preferred zone, or select “Any Area in Chennai” if they are willing to work across the city.

To register, download the Namma Chennai app, create an account using your mobile number and OTP, and select “Volunteer Registration.” Users must provide their personal details, emergency contact information, ID proof, disaster management experience, area of expertise and preferred zone before submitting the form.

The initiative aims to improve coordination between the GCC and volunteers during heavy rain, flooding and other monsoon-related emergencies.
