Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple Kumbabhishekam: Special Trains to Operate Between Chennai and Madurai

Ahead of the Kumbabhishekam ceremony at the Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple, Southern Railway has announced special train services between Chennai and Madurai to accommodate the expected increase in passenger traffic.

According to a statement issued by Southern Railway, a special express train (Train No. 06153) will depart from Chennai Central Railway Station at 4:10 PM on September 16 and reach Madurai at 4:30 AM the following day.

In the return direction, the special train (Train No. 06154) will depart from Madurai at 3:30 PM on September 17 and arrive at Chennai Central Railway Station at 3:30 AM the next day.

Similarly, another special train (Train No. 06157) will depart from Tambaram Railway Station at 9:40 PM on September 16 and reach Madurai at 5:00 AM the following day. The return service (Train No. 06158) will depart from Madurai at 7:00 PM on September 17 and arrive at Tambaram at 3:20 AM the next day.

Chennai Beach - Manamadurai Passenger Train

A special passenger train (Train No. 06161) will depart from Chennai Beach Railway Station at 10:45 AM on September 16 and reach Manamadurai at 11:30 PM the same day.

The return service (Train No. 06162) will depart from Manamadurai at 12:00 noon on September 17 and arrive at Tambaram at 11:45 PM the same day.
