Sudden Toll Fee Hike at Chennai Toll Plazas from Midnight

Motorists using the Vanagaram and Soorapattu toll plazas will have to pay higher toll charges from midnight today, as the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced a revision in toll fees.

Under the revised rates, the toll charge for a single trip by car, jeep, or van has been increased by ₹5, taking the total fee to ₹55. The revised charges will come into effect from 12:00 a.m.

The latest increase has drawn criticism from regular commuters, especially daily travelers, as it is the second toll fee hike in just four months. Many motorists have expressed concern over the frequent revisions, saying the repeated increases are adding to their travel expenses.

The revised toll rates are effective from midnight today and will apply to all vehicles passing through the affected toll plazas in accordance with the updated NHAI toll schedule.
