Special Trains Announced Between Chennai and Kanyakumari to Handle Summer Holiday Rush
To manage the increased passenger demand during the summer holidays, Southern Railway has announced special express train services between Chennai Egmore and Kanyakumari.
Chennai Egmore - Kanyakumari Special Train (No. 06045) will operate on:
- May 15, 22, 29
- June 5 (Fridays)
The train will depart from Chennai Egmore at 11:50 PM and reach:
- Tirunelveli Junction at 10:25 AM
- Nagercoil at 11:40 AM
- Kanyakumari at 1:00 PM
In the return direction, Kanyakumari - Chennai Egmore Special Train (No. 06046) will run on:
- May 17, 24, 31
- June 7 (Sundays)
The train will leave Kanyakumari at 11:25 PM and arrive at:
- Tirunelveli Junction at 12:55 AM
- Tambaram at 10:15 AM
- Chennai Egmore at 11:30 AM
A total of four services will be operated in each direction.
The trains will include:
- AC 2-tier coaches
- AC 3-tier coaches
- Sleeper class coaches
- General compartments
- Special coaches for differently-abled passengers
Ticket booking for these special trains begins from 8:00 AM on May 10.
