Following the announcement of the Assembly election schedule by the Election Commission of India, the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) has come into force across Tamil Nadu ahead of the April 23 Assembly elections.

Due to the enforcement of election rules, district administrations have announced the temporary suspension of several public grievance meetings and outreach programmes. District Collectors stated that the weekly public grievance day meetings held every Monday under the leadership of District Collectors, the monthly district outreach camps conducted in taluks, and the monthly farmers’ grievance redressal meetings will remain suspended until the election process is completed.

The decision has been taken to ensure strict compliance with the Model Code of Conduct guidelines issued by the Election Commission, which restrict government-related public programmes during the election period.

Officials said the meetings will resume after the election process concludes, and the public will be informed accordingly. Meanwhile, the administration will continue essential government services while ensuring that all election guidelines are followed.
