Flight services between Chennai and several Gulf countries continue to face major disruption as 31 flights were cancelled at Chennai International Airport for the fourth consecutive day due to escalating tensions between Israel and Iran.

The conflict intensified after Israel and the United States reportedly carried out attacks on Iran, following which Iran launched retaliatory strikes targeting US bases in the Middle East. As a result, air travel across several Middle Eastern regions has been severely affected.

According to airport sources, several flights connecting Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, and Muscat were cancelled over the past few days. On Saturday, 28 flights (16 arrivals and 12 departures) were cancelled. On Sunday, 33 flights were cancelled, followed by 36 cancellations on Monday.

On the fourth day, 31 flights were cancelled, including 16 departing flights and 15 arriving flights from the United Arab Emirates and other Gulf countries.

Passengers planning to travel to the United States, Europe, and other international destinations via Gulf transit hubs have been advised to contact their respective airlines to confirm updated flight schedules and departure timings.

With flights to UAE and Gulf countries from Chennai largely suspended, many passengers are facing significant travel inconvenience and delays.
