Sian at Vivanta Chennai, IT Expressway Celebrates Relaunch with an Exclusive Southeast Asian Culinary Showcase
Vivanta Chennai, IT Expressway marked the relaunch of Sian, its signature Southeast Asian restaurant, with an exclusive evening that brought together the city’s culinary enthusiasts, corporate leaders, dignitaries and members of the diplomatic community for a curated dining experience.
The evening celebrated Sian’s renewed identity as a vibrant Southeast Asian destination, complemented by newly redesigned interiors that blend subtle Asian motifs with contemporary elegance. Warm lighting, immersive music, and the newly introduced menu set the tone for a dynamic and engaging culinary showcase.
Led by Executive Chef Saratchandra Banerji, the specially curated menu for the evening highlighted Sian’s expanded Southeast Asian repertoire. Guests began the experience with comforting bowls of Malaysian Laksa, both vegetarian and chicken, followed by vibrant starters such as Goi Cuon Shrimp, Szechuan Chilly Mountain Chicken, Tossed Crispy Tofu in Chilly Black Bean Sauce, and Goi Cuon. The main course continued the regional journey with Prawns Adobo, a celebrated delicacy from Philippines, alongside Thai Red Curry with Chicken. Vegetarian offerings included Bamboo Shoot and Shiitake Mushroom in Light Soy and Stir-Fried Bok Choy with Broccoli. The spread was complemented by Golden Garlic Fried Rice, Char Kway Teow, Vegetable Hakka Noodles, and Steamed Jasmine Rice. The celebration concluded on a sweet note with Southeast Asian favourites including Tub Tim Krob and the fragrant Pandan Layer Cake.
Adding to the evening’s immersive experience was a curated selection of Chinese-inspired cocktails, including the Lychee Blossom Martini, Ginger Dragon Highball, Mandarin Pearl, Five-Spice Negroni, and Jasmine Tea Spritz.
Guests appreciated the thoughtfully curated menu and the renewed energy of the space, noting the seamless balance between authentic flavours and contemporary interpretation. The evening reflected Sian’s commitment to delivering an elevated Southeast Asian dining experience on Chennai’s OMR stretch.
