In a major relief for retired transport employees, the Government of Tamil Nadu has sanctioned ₹2,446 crore to clear long-pending retirement and terminal benefits of bus transport staff across the state.

The financial allocation aims to settle dues for thousands of retired employees who served in various state transport corporations.

What the ₹2,446 Crore Allocation Covers

The approved funds will be used to clear:

- Provident Fund (PF) dues

- Gratuity payments

- Leave encashment

- Other retirement and terminal benefits

The move is expected to benefit retired, voluntarily retired, and deceased transport employees’ families awaiting settlement of their dues.

Relief for Transport Corporation Pensioners

For several months, retired busmen and transport staff had been requesting the release of their pending retirement benefits. With this fresh allocation, the Tamil Nadu government has taken a significant step toward ensuring financial security for former employees.

Government’s Commitment to Welfare

The sanction reflects the state government’s commitment to employee welfare and financial accountability. Officials stated that the funds will be disbursed as per established procedures to ensure eligible beneficiaries receive their dues without further delay.

The decision has been widely welcomed by transport unions and retired staff associations across Tamil Nadu.
