Chennai Suburban Train Service Change: EMU Trains Partially Cancelled Due to Maintenance Work
Railway authorities have announced temporary changes in suburban train services between Chennai Central and Gudur section due to scheduled track and technical maintenance works. The maintenance activities will be carried out at Minjur and Ponneri railway stations, aiming to ensure passenger safety and improve railway infrastructure.
According to the notification, maintenance work will take place on February 20 and 21 from 11:45 PM to 4:45 AM the following day. As a result, select EMU train services will operate with revised routes and timings.
On February 20 and 21, the EMU train departing from Moore Market Complex at 11:30 PM will run only up to Minjur, instead of its regular destination Gummidipoondi.
Similarly, on February 19, 21 and 22, the EMU train scheduled to depart at 3:50 PM will start from Minjur and arrive at Moore Market Complex, replacing the usual Gummidipoondi service.
Passengers are advised to check updated train schedules before travel and plan their journey accordingly. The railway department has urged commuters to cooperate during the maintenance period to ensure safe and smooth train operations.
