The renowned Mahalingapuram Ayyappa Temple, dedicated to Lord Manikanda Swami (Ayyappa), is the first Ayyappa temple established in Chennai and follows the philosophy of universal love and brotherhood. Built in 1974 with traditional Kerala-style rituals, the temple has grown into a major spiritual center, especially during the Mandalam and Makara Vilakku seasons.

The temple complex also houses shrines for Ganesha, Muruga, Guruvayurappan, Navagrahas, Anjaneya, Garuda, Nagaraja, and Nagayakshi, attracting thousands of devotees throughout the year.
