A low-pressure area is likely to form on February 15 over the east-central parts of the Indian Ocean near the equator and adjoining southeast Bay of Bengal due to an upper-air cyclonic circulation.

February 13 (Friday): Light rain is expected at isolated places in southern districts including Theni, Virudhunagar, Tenkasi, Tirunelveli and Kanyakumari.
February 14 (Saturday): Light rain may occur at isolated places over south Tamil Nadu.
February 15 & 16 (Sunday & Monday): Dry weather likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.
February 17 & 18: Light rain may return to isolated areas of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.

Light fog is likely during early morning hours from February 13 to 16 in districts such as Ranipet, Vellore, Tirupattur, Krishnagiri, Dharmapuri, Dindigul, The Nilgiris, Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kanchipuram, Chengalpattu, Erode, Salem and Namakkal.
Fishermen Warning
Strong winds reaching speeds of up to 55 kmph are expected over the southern parts of the southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining equatorial Indian Ocean. Fishermen are advised to exercise caution while venturing into the sea.
