Several Trains to Start, Terminate, and Be Diverted Due to Modernisation Works
The Indian Railways has announced redevelopment and modernisation works at Chennai Egmore Railway Station, which will be carried out from February 3 to April 4. Due to these works, multiple long-distance trains will be short-terminated, originate from alternate stations, or be diverted between February 3 and April 6.
Trains Terminating at Tambaram Instead of Chennai Egmore
(February 3 to April 5)
The following trains will terminate at Tambaram Railway Station:
Uzhavan Express (Train No. 16866) – Thanjavur to Chennai Egmore
Ananthapuri Superfast Express (Train No. 20636) – Kollam to Chennai Egmore
Rameswaram–Chennai Egmore Express (Train No. 16752)
Trains Originating from Tambaram Instead of Chennai Egmore
(February 4 to April 6)
The following trains will depart from Tambaram Railway Station:
Uzhavan Express (Train No. 16865) – Departs at 11:00 PM
Ananthapuri Superfast Express (Train No. 20635) – Departs at 8:20 PM
Rameswaram Express (Train No. 16751) – Departs at 9:05 PM
Chennai–Mumbai Superfast Express Departure Change
- Chennai Egmore–Mumbai Superfast Express (Train No. 22158)
- From February 4 to April 4, the train will depart from Chennai Beach Railway Station at 6:50 PM, instead of Chennai Egmore.
Route Diversion for Ahmedabad–Tiruchirappalli Weekly Special Train
- Train Nos. 09419 / 09420
- From February 5 to April 2, the weekly special train will be operated via an alternate route.
