Good news!! A new proposal to increase the intake for UG programmes in Anna University or AU!!
There is some superb piece of information for the students now.
It is now said that the Guindy based Anna University or AU has proposed to revise the intake of several UG programmes in the AU departments from the academic year 2025-26 academic year. Not only this, AU would also restructure various PG programme courses in the university departments.
Point to be noted here is that the proposed increase in the intake for UG programmes would be applicable to prestigious constituent colleges of AU like CEG or College of Engineering Guindy, School of Architecture and Planning or SAP Guindy campus, Alagappa College of Technology or ACT Guindy campus and Madras Institute of Technology or MIT Chromepet,
It is now revealed that the proposal to increase the intake for UG programmes and restructure of PG courses etc was tabled at the 45th meeting of the Syndicate. This Syndicate is the highest decision making body of AU is known. The approval or consent to increase the intake for UG programmes (includes 15% supernumerary seats) from the academic year 2025-26 were issued by the Syndicate members of A.
From this academic year, the PG courses in the university departments would also be restructured and the approval was issued by the members at the meeting. It was later brought to light by some sources from AU that the present intake for UG programmes of the department campuses is about 2800 and 900 for PG or post graduate courses.
