Chennai to Host 15-Hour Marathon Music Festival on World Music Day 2026

To celebrate World Music Day, the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC), in collaboration with the On The Street music organization, will organize a 15-hour marathon music festival in Chennai on June 21.

The event will take place at Pondy Bazaar and begin at 7:00 AM, continuing until 10:00 PM. The festival aims to celebrate diverse musical traditions and cultures while bringing people together through the universal language of music.

Music lovers can enjoy a wide range of performances, including classical, film, folk, Carnatic, Western, light music, and fusion genres. More than 100 artists and over 20 music bands are expected to participate, offering non-stop entertainment throughout the day.

According to officials, the event is designed to promote unity, happiness, social harmony, and environmental awareness among the public through the power of music. The marathon concert is expected to attract large crowds and add vibrant energy to Chennai`s World Music Day celebrations.
