Kasimedu Traffic Diversion from October 1 for 15 Days Due to Sewer Works

Traffic diversions have been announced in Kasimedu from October 1, 2026, due to sewer repair works being carried out by Metro Water near the SN Chetty Road–Jeevarathinam Salai junction close to Kasimedu Signal. The temporary traffic arrangements will remain in effect for 15 days.

According to the Greater Chennai Traffic Police (GCTP), the road diversion is required to facilitate the construction of a replacement for a collapsed sewer door.

Vehicles Towards Ennore

Buses and heavy vehicles travelling towards Ennore through the SN Chetty Road–Jeevarathinam Salai junction will be diverted via Jeevarathinam Salai, VP Kovil Street and TH Road, before proceeding through the TH Road Toll Gate junction.

Two-wheelers and light motor vehicles travelling towards Ennore will also use Jeevarathinam Salai and VP Kovil Street. They will proceed on TH Road, take a U-turn near TH Road–Metro Train Pillar 12, and then take Balakrishna Street to continue towards their destination.

Vehicles Towards Parrys Corner

Vehicles travelling from Ennore towards Parrys Corner through SN Chetty Road will be diverted at the SN Chetty Road–Power Kuppam junction, opposite the Muslim burial ground.

Traffic will move through the outgoing side before taking a left at the SN Chetty Road–Kasimedu Signal junction on the incoming side to continue towards Parrys Corner.

Commuters travelling through Kasimedu, SN Chetty Road, Jeevarathinam Salai and TH Road are advised to follow the temporary diversion routes and plan their journeys accordingly.
